Hello and welcome to Math 8! My name is Miss Riesel and I am so excited to be your math teacher this year. My goal is to help teach you to have fun with math and that it is something that you will use in the "real world".  While I look forward to getting to know each of you, I also wanted to give you the opportunity to learn a little about me!

I graduated from Hartwick College in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics as well as completing their Secondary and Special Education programs. While there I also spent 6 weeks in Nepal teaching English to local Nepali children. I am currently working on my Master's Degree online through SUNY Oneonta and will graduate this upcoming May with a Master's in Educational Technology.  I also work part-time teaching English in an online one-on-one setting to students who live in China. I also love being involved in my school community.  Since I have been teaching I have directed the senior play, coached Varsity Cheerleading, coached Varsity Track and have been a freshman class advisor.  It's great getting to know my students outside of an academic setting.

I want to get to know you both as students and as people.  Please feel free to come to see me before school, after school, during lunch or free periods for help with any assignment or if you just need someone to listen.  My goal is to be there for my students in any way possible!
